FMMS girls take two from Ottumwa

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison junior high girls basketball team swept Ottumwa at home Tuesday night. In the "A" game, Fort Madison won 41-4. Isabella Boeding had 13, Molly Knipe 10, Camille Kruse 8, McKenna Cashman 6, Emily Steffensmeier 2, and Ivy Arnold 2. Fort Madison was 18 for 41 from the field and 5 for 7 from the free throw line. Leading rebounders were Cashman and Knipe with eight rebounds, Arnold five, Kruse, Steffensmeier and Ran Deltetsen each had one rebound. Assists leaders were Kruse with five, Steffensmeier three, Molly Knipe two, and Boeding and Rylee Dubois with one each.

Fort Madison won the "B" game 10-0. Leading scorers were Arnold, Eveonna Smutney, Deltetsen, Dubois, Edlicia Smutney all with two points. Leading rebounders for the B Team were Deltetsen and Dubois with four rebounds, Smutney had two, and Kayley Noble had 1. Steffensmeier had three assists.

Fort Madison 8th grades next game is Fairfield at home Monday.
