HTC junior high girls sweep Van Buren

FORT MADISON - The Holy Trinity Girls basketball team swept a junior high matchup with Van Buren on Tuesday night.
In the 8th grade game, Brooke Mueller scored 15 as the Crusaders went on to win 24-13. Mary Hellige had four points, Kayla Box had 3 and Alexa Dingman added two points in the win.
Breanna Peterson led HTC with 10 points in the 38-8 seventh grade win. Natalie Randolph, Taegan Denning and Mary Kate Bendlage each scored eight points. Reagan Holvoet had four.
On Monday night, New London took the 8th grade game 28-18. Hellige put in eight points for the Crusaders. Mueller, Box, Dingman, Lora Mehmert and Jenna DiPrima all had two points.
The seventh graders won 38-9 with Holvoet exploding for 14 points. Randolph and Peterson eah had 10 in the win. Denning and Jenna Hellman scored two points apiece.
The Crusaders play Thursday night at Notre Dame.
