FMHS girls fall to Ottumwa before break

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison girls high school basketball team got 13 points from sophomore Maddie Rashid in a 66-30 loss on Wednesday.

Braxtyn McGhghy converted a couple 3-pointers to finish with six points for Fort Madison. Rashid was 6-of-9 from the field including 1-of-2 from the 3-point arch to lead Fort Madison.

The Hounds got three points from Jillian Wiseman and two points each from Jassmine Bass, Anna Kester, Josie Pumphrey and Nadia Boeding.

Ottumwa was lead by senior Lily Anderson who fired in 20 points to lead all scorers. Morgan Greiner and Grace Bookin-Nosbisch each had 10.

Rashid had five board for Fort Madison and senior Dezire Klein had four to lead the 0-2 Hounds.

The junior varsity loss 61-41, while the freshman team won 51-34 behind 19 points from Anna Lynk.

The Hounds play at Iowa City Liberty on Tuesday night.
