Joyce Seabold, 82, of Keokuk, IA died Monday, November 26, 2018 at Unity Point-Keokuk in Keokuk, IA.

She was born on May 11, 1936 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Henry and Juanita Thoney Biddenstadt. She graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1954.

On June 12, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert Seabold at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Doug Seabold and his wife Sue and Bruce Seabold all of Keokuk, Steven Seabold and his wife Lisa of Quincy, IL, grandchildren, Bill (Jill) Seabold, Nick (Ashley) Seabold, Lacey Harnish (Josh), Adam (Kacey) Seabold, Brooklyn Seabold, Brendan Seabold, Tyler Seabold and Amanda Schmitt (Brandon), great-grandchildren, Ryan Seabold, Andrew Seabold, Jordan Seabold, Gavin Harnish, Landon Harnish and Kyle Schmitt, great-great-grandchildren, Karter, Lynlee and Hadley Seabold, one sister, Lucille McPherson of Keokuk, one daughter-in-law, Yvonne Sue Seabold of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tim Seabold and one sister, Dorothy High.

She had been employed by First Community Bank in Keokuk until her retirement. After her retirement, Joyce helped Pam Kelly with vacation trips that the bank offered to the community. She had also sold Avon for many years.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. She was also a member of King’s Daughters and several different bridge clubs over the years.

Joyce enjoyed all kinds of crafts, particularly ceramics and sewing. She was a wonderful cook and would bake a large batch of sugar cookies every holiday for her family and friends to share.

She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Joyce was a loving wife and devoted mother, her greatest joy was to care for her family and tell Robert what to do.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Joel Schlatter officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk.

Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ.
