Mrs. E. Pauline Smiddy Flack, 97, of Dallas City, IL died Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington, IA. She was born July 27, 1921 near Dallas City, the daughter of Ralph and Millie Robinson Jones. On October 21, 1939 she married Forrest “Bud” Smiddy in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1995. On April 17, 1998 she married Russell Flack. He died January 9, 2006.
Pauline worked for a short time for Sylvania Electronics in Burlington and for Shellor Globe in Keokuk, IA. She was a member of the Dallas City Senior Citizens and the Pontoosuc Community Church.
Pauline enjoyed life and loved to dance. Everyone loved her chocolate chip cookies. She may have been 97, but she still had a 39 year old attitude!
Surviving are three daughters, Saundra Genck of Hamilton, IL, Barbara Graning of Dallas City and Claudia Webster of Lomax, IL, one step-son, John Flack of Dallas City, nine grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle) Genck, Joann (David) VanFleet, Janet Spencer, Shelley (Mark) Monteith, Sharon (Craig) Neuwig, Shanna (Ryan) Eddington, Kurt (Stephanie) Webster, Bradley Webster and Andrew Webster, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren with 1 due in March.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son, Boyd Smiddy, two sisters, one brother in infancy and three son-in-laws she thought of as her sons, Jack Genck, Dick Graning and Greg Webster.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 3, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. The family will meet with friends Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
