FORT MADISON - Reed Fehseke fired in 14 and Quentin Schneider had 10 to lead Holy Trinity in a 67-39 loss to New London at home Tuesday in boys Southeast Superconference basketball action.

Holy Trinity didn't get on the board until about four minutes into the first quarter and had already spotted the Tigers an 11-2 lead. But the Crusaders would go on an 8-3 run to close the gap to 11-8 with two minutes left in the quarter. Both teams would then get hot and exchange buckets the rest of the way with New London holding a 17-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Crusaders couldn't keep up with the Tigers in the second quarter being outscored 19-7 with five different Tigers getting on the board in the period.

Holy Trinity would score just six points in the third period off a 3-pointer and a free throw from Fehseke and a bucket from junior Matt Hellige as New London stretched the lead to 51-27.

The Crusaders wouldn't make up any ground in the final period getting just two buckets one from Hellige and and a 3-ball from Schneider.

Kyle Bredemeyer scored three points, while Chandler Rung and Adam Rauenbuehler each scored two points.

The boys will look for their first win on Friday when they travel to 3-0 Burlington Notre Dame in a girls/boys varsity doubleheader.
