FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) will be introducing a new monthly health education series in December.

The first session entitled “The Who, What and Why of Endometriosis” will take place on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at FMCH in the Business Center Conference Rooms. Dr. Yadira Garcia, Obstetrician/Gynecologist will lead the discussion on endometriosis, a condition that affects women of all ages. Endometriosis is an often-painful condition caused by tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus – the endometrium-grows outside of your uterus. According to the IDPH website, it is estimated that between 10 percent and 20 percent of American women of childbearing age suffer from endometriosis, however, many remain undiagnosed.

This educational session is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. You can reserve your spot or get more information by calling, 319-376-2244.
