FMMS 8th grade girls finish year 11-1

MT. PLEASANT - The Fort Madison eighth grade girls 'A' team fell to Mt. Pleasant 27-22 Thursday night on the road.

Leading scorer for the Bloodhounds was Isabella Boeding with 10 points followed by Molly Knipe with eight points and Camille Kruse and McKenna Cashman had two points each. Fort Madison rebounding was led by Knipe and Cashman with 10 boards each. Rounding out the rebounding for the Hounds was Boeding and Kruse with three rebounds each followed by Emily Steffensmeier and Ivy Arnold with one apiece. Assist leaders were Knipe and Isabella Boeding each with two assists each, followed by Kruse with 1 assist. The Fort Madison A team finished their season 11-1 with the lone loss being two the Panthers, which it had beaten just a 10 days ago.

Fort Madison's 'B' team won a close game with Mt. Pleasant by a score of 14-12. Leading scorer for the Hounds was Arnold with eight points followed by Cashman with six points. Ron Deltetsen led the girls with five boards followed by Rylee Dubois and Eveonna Smutney with three rebounds. Rounding out the rebounding for the Hounds were Cashman and Arnold with two each and Steffensmeier and Kayley Noble with one rebound each. The Bloodhounds were led in assists by Smutney with three and Emily Steffensmeier with two assists.
