Morhfeld, Hellman and Wyrick lead BHS swimmers

BURINGTON - The Burlington Grayhounds swim team, featuring several athletes from Lee County schools, won a dual meet Thursday against Clinton at the Burlington High School pool.

Holy Trinity Catholic junior Jacob Mohrfeld captured a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle at 54.18. Fellow HTC junior Wyatt Hellman took second place in the event at 58.37.

Mohrfeld also took first in the 100-yard Breaststroke at 1:05.55 as well as jumping off on the second leg of the winning 200-yard relay team for BHS.

Central Lee's Blake Wyrick took first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a 2:06.8 time. He also captured the title in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.93.

In the 200-yard Individual Medley, Hellman took second place at 2:35.85. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Hellman swam the first leg and Mohrfeld the third with the Grayhounds winning the event with a time of 1:38.95.

Hellman also swam the first leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay and Wyrick anchored the event for BHS, which won the event with a time of 3:56.70.

Burlington won the dual with 123 points to Clinton's 46.
