Donald L. Reu, 90, of Ft. Madison passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:24 PM at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

He was born on April 6, 1928 in Kenneth, Minnesota to Hardy and Loretta Adamson Reu. Don was raised by Joe and Mary Reu Eid. On November 10, 1951 he married Heiress St.

REU

Clair in Ft. Madison and she passed away on May 31, 2016. Don worked at US West Telephone Company and retired after thirty nine years of service. He was a member of St. Johns UCC, the Elks Club and also served in the US Army during WWII. Don collected telephones, golf balls and beer cans. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, walking his dog, doing yardwork and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Gary) Kramer of Ft. Madison; his son, Jeff Reu of Ft. Madison and a granddaughter, Hannah Reu of Ft. Madison; two step granddaughters and four step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister in law, Gerry St. Clair of Ft. Madison and a brother in law, Gary St. Clair of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joe and Mary Eid whom raised him; his wife; a cousin Evelyn Laughlin; two brothers; one sister and most recently his beloved fur baby, Charlie.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Cheryl Simpson officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be held in Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery with military rites performed by the Ft. Madison Veterans Honor Guard.
