Vance H. Meyertholen, 88, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the house he built, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 30, 1930 in Fort Madison, IA to John H. & Lena M. Muerhoff Meyertholen. He married Joan B. Enderle on November 16, 1951 at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Madison, IA. He was a tool & die apprentice at the Sheaffer Pen Company and later owned and operated Quality Tool & Die from 1964 to 1997. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church, Knights of Columbus & the Fort Madison Elks Lodge.

Vance is survived by: his wife: Joan Meyertholen of Fort Madison, IA; 2-daughters: Jane (Rick) Nelson of Omaha, NE & Lynn Meierotto of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sons: John (Traci) Meyertholen of Fort Madison, IA & Darin (Gabrielle) Meyertholen of Woodbury, MN; 4-granddaughters: Jessica (Robert) Ellison, Allison (Stephan) Scott, Andrea (Ian) Richardson & Erika Jones; 2-grandsons: Jacob & Thomas Meyertholen 2-step granddaughters: Shelby Mutter & Brianna Wright & 9-Great Grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by: his parents & 1-sister: Audrey.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 with the family to receive friends from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Holy Trinity Catholic Schools.
