FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) will host the second session in their new monthly health education series in January.
The second session entitled “Stop the Scratching” will take place on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at FMCH in the Business Center Conference Rooms. Dr. Liberty Balbort, Pediatrician will lead the discussion on dry skin and eczema, a skin condition that affects people of all ages. She will explore the symptoms, causes and treatments available for dry skin. Dr. Balbort will also discuss how to tell if your dry skin is eczema. Eczema is a chronic problem, which affects about 10% of the U.S. population according to the National Eczema Organization. Eczema is a term used to describe a variety of medical conditions causing red, inflamed and itchy skin.
