FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital recognized Lenora (Luna) Price as its November Employee of the Month. Price works as a nurse in the Emergency Department. She has been with FMCH for over twelve years. Price was chosen with this nomination:

Luna exemplifies the Standards of Behavior in particular Guest Relations, Commitment to Co-workers and Positive Attitude. I would like to nominate this employee for employee of the month for her hard work and dedication to patients and staff. They ALWAYS go the extra mile for patients, and have gone out of her way to do a courtesy call on a patient "just because". She is always punctual for work and picks up shifts often. This employee often will stay on call so patients and coworkers are taken care of. This employee will help out any coworker, whether it be nurse, lab, registration or housekeeping. They always treat patients as if they were her own family, and patients always remember this employee, as they are just that memorable. It is not uncommon to hear patients mutter "my favorite nurse" before the patient has even been wheeled through the doors. When staff come in the am for work, the department is always tidy and stocked with pertinent supplies.

“The best part of working at FMCH is meeting people and working with my night shift family. My best mentors in my career at FMCH were JoAnn Lampe and Ann Torgler,” commented Price.

When not caring for patients in the ER, Price enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening and playing golf. She also likes volunteering at the soup kitchen.

The Employee of the Month is an initiative developed by the Reward & Recognition team. Each month a FMCH employee is honored for going above and beyond for the good of the patient, their co-workers and the organization.
