Raymond E. Holland, 83, of Farmington, Iowa, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2019, at Walnut Acres Nursing Home in Freeport, Illinois.
Born on May 3, 1935, in Farmington, Iowa, the son of Roy E. and Dorothy M. (Anthony) Holland. On December 28, 1962, he married Helen Starr in Farmington, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife: Helen of Farmington, Iowa; two children: Lisa (Jeff) Sands of Freeport, Illinois and Lundy (Rachelle) Holland of Rochester, New York; ten grandchildren: Lisa Marie Christensen, Jennifer May, Christopher May, Elizabeth Pulgarin, Kyle Sands, Chelsea Grimes, Ryan Sands, Grant Holland, Jackson Holland and Thomas Holland; twelve great grandchildren and two brothers: Roger Holland of Farmington, Iowa and Charles Holland of Fort Madison, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Patricia May and one sister Shirley Cramer.
Ray graduated from Donnellson High School in 1953. He served in the United States Army during the early Vietnam Era. He retired as a supervisor after working thirty-five years at IAAP. Ray served on the Farmington City Council. He was a licensed private pilot and belonged to the EAA, he was also was a member of the Gold Wing Association.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington, Iowa, with Larry Shipley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
Burial will be at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.
A memorial has been made in his memory.
