FMMS girls take two from Mount Pleasant

MT. PLEASANT - The Fort Madison 7th grade girls basketball A team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 24-13 road win over Mount Pleasant Tuesday night.

Aija Jenkins led all scorers with 10 points, followed closely by Madelyn Gobble with six points. Lauryn Helmick and DeLanee Seay rounded out the scoring with four each. Helmick led in rebounds with five and added four steals, while Jenkins and Gobble each grabbed four rebounds.

Fort Madison’s A team plays another road game Monday at Ottumwa.

The Fort Madison B team won by a score of 16-4. Ieisha Coleman led in scoring with six points with Haley Lampe also scoring four points. Ella Wright, Mackenzie Rainwater, and Alix Kern each chipped in with two points. With the win, Fort Madison’s B team moves to 3-0 and plays at Ottumwa on Monday.
