MERSCHBROCKCarolyn Jean Merschbrock, 74, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.
She was born on August 23, 1944 in Fort Madison, IA to Bruce L. & Mildred Hoffeditz Coffman. She married Louis H. Merschbrock on September 2, 1961 in Fort Madison, IA. She was a homemaker most of her life and was a member of Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling, bird watching and in her younger years, going to flea markets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by: her husband: Louis Merschbrock of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Darla (John) Wacker of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Bruce (Jennifer) Merschbrock of Des Moines, IA; 6-grandchildren: Duane (Leslie) Coffman, Kirstie (Anthony) Paquin, Austin Wacker, Chance Merschbrock, Shane Merschbrock & Anna Merschbrock; 5-great grandchildren: Reece, Collin, Wyatt, Cole & Kate and 1 on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents & 1-brother: Duane Coffman.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 with the family to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held at Harris Cemetery in rural Dallas City, IL at a later date. A memorial has been established for the American Lung Association.
