Food Pantry board president offers thanks

Posted

A huge thank you to all who helped make the Eagles’ Fish/Shrimp Fry dinner benefiting the Fort Madison Food Pantry the very best ever!

To all who came for dinner; who brought friends; who told a friend; said a prayer for us; who participated in the auctions; who supported with generous donations; to the waitresses and bartenders who tirelessly served the bursting-to-the-seams room of diners; to the volunteers who bussed tables and washed dishes

To those who read their placemats; to those who tirelessly worked in the kitchen turning out seemingly endless orders; to the HTC basketball team who hustled the 50/50 raffle tickets; to Fraise’s auctioneers who kept the auction bidding alive; to the Hillsiders for their musical talents and spirited entertainment; to those who donated the most fabulous desserts; to those who worked for several months in the planning process; to the Pantry’s Board of Directors for their support and guidance; to those who donated items for the auctions; and to the Eagles for their invitation to host the benefit.

With all your support, you have gifted the monetary resources to feed 350 of Fort Madison’s food-insecure families for 2 to 3 months! Kudos to all of you and many, many thanks! Fort Madison, Iowa, is truly a community of neighbors helping neighbors!
