8th grade boys split last week

FORT MADISON - Jordan Simpson put up 12 points Tuesday night in Mt. Pleasant as the Fort Madison 8th graders split two games with the Panthers.

Jamiah Williams had 10 points and two rebounds in the win. Nick Fullencamp added nine points, while Kane Williams put in seven, Nathaniel Swigart added three and Dylan Gilman added a bucket to round out the scoring in the 43-48 A game loss for Fort Madison.

In the B game, Xander Wellman had eight and Drew Davis had six to lead the way in a 28-21. Cameron Shuttwell had four, Elijah Gonsalves had three, while Cade Packard, Gilman, George Hantzeas all had two. Cameron Nabors had 1.

Swigart put up 10 points on Thursday as the Fort Madison 8th grade boys took 2 of 3 from Mt. Pleasant at home.

Simpson had eight points and three boards, while Jamiah Williams scored six and pulled down five rebounds. Aiden Boyer led the Hounds in rebounding with six and added four points. Wellman scored three to round out the scoring in a 31-28 A game win.

In the B game, Butler scored 10 and had two rebounds to lead Fort Madison in a 20-15 win. Hantzeas scored six, while Packard and Gillman each added a bucket in the win.

Tucker had a dozen points and 10 boards in a 20-20 tie in the C game. Shuttwell had four points. Drew Davis and Nabors each scored a bucket in the loss.

On Feb. 12, boys teams won two of three games against Burlington's Edward Stone at home.

Edward Stone took the A game 47-19. Kane Williams, Simpson, and Jamiah Williams each had four points for the Little Hounds.

Boyer and Butler each had two points and Swigart added one point in the loss. Jamiah Williams led the Hounds with four rebounds.

Fort Madison won the B game 34-24 behind 11 points from Fullencamp. Wellman had nine points, Butler had eight and Gilman had six points and three rebounds.

In the C game, Shutwell, Tucker, and Hantzeas each scored a bucket and Nabors had free throw in 9-6 win.
