William H. “Bill” Buntin, 78 of Kahoka, MO, died Saturday evening, February 23, 2019 in St. Francisville, MO.

He was born on October 24, 1940 in Kirksville, MO, the son of Reverend Howard E. and Hazel Dean Shaffer Buntin.

On September 16, 1959, Bill was united in marriage to Nellie Rhodes in Keokuk, IA and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Billy (Joe) Buntin of Hannibal, MO and Danny (Cindy) Buntin of Wayland, MO, two grandchildren, Julie Thrauer and Brandon Todd, step-grandchildren, Tiffanie West-Bennett, James West, Jonathan West and two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Grayson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Valerie Williams, two sisters and two brothers.

Bill had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings until his retirement. He was currently the owner of B & B Fireworks Enterprise in St. Francisville.

He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local #3311.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and spending time with his family and grandchildren brought him much joy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with Pastor Ray Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Friday at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends from 5 – 8 p.m.
