SCC's "Great Tastes" at Pzazz April 12

Posted

WEST BURLINGTON - The annual Southeastern Community College (SCC) Foundation Great Tastes event is scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2019, at the PZAZZ! Entertainment Complex in Burlington, Iowa. The benefit begins at 6 p.m with the live auction starting at 7:30 p.m.

Throughout the night, guests will enjoy a wide variety of wines, beer, ales, and spirits from 14 beverage purveyors, and coffee from local roasters. Tasting notes will be provided so patrons can track their favorites. PZAZZ! chefs will feature a broad array of delicious hot and cold appetizers and desserts throughout the evening, featuring several Lenten specials.

"Our goal is to exceed last year’s net of $53,000 while having fun. Net proceeds will support SCC Foundation Board Scholarships, Foundation expenses, instructional program mini-grants, and facilities improvements," says SCC Foundation Board Chair, Frank Delaney.

New this year is an online bidding system, which will allow attendees to mingle with their friends and keep an eye on their favorite items on their phones.

“What’s neat about this new system is that guests can see the items long before Great Tastes begins,” states Becky Rump, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. “Even better, they can start bidding on silent auction items two days before the event.”

Participants can view silent auction items starting Monday, April 1. Early bidding starts on April 10. At the April 12 event, patrons will bid on silent auction items using a link on their cell phones or one of the many available iPads.

The catalog is located at www.501auctions.com/sccfgt.

Rump adds, “For those who don’t feel technologically savvy, we’ll have trained volunteers available all night to provide support.”

Charity auctioneers from Fraise Auction & Realty Company will auction off items donated by employees, students, alumni, and friends of SCC. Auction items include gourmet dinners, vacation homes, boat rides, original artworks, hand-made jewelry, home improvement services, trips, event and athletic tickets, and many other specialty items.

Individual tickets are $50 each in advance or $60 at the door.

Sponsor tables for eight people are $500 and include reserved seating, close proximity to the auction stage, party favors, hors d'oeuvres and desserts, and the opportunity to promote the sponsor’s business with their own table decorations. Premier table sponsorships at $600 include all of the above, plus the business’ logo on the new auction website. Stage Sponsorships at $1,000 given even greater recognition. Raffle tickets for specialty items will be available for 5 for $20.

To buy tickets or reserve sponsor table seats, contact Glasgow at the SCC Foundation Office 319-208-5062 or jglasgow@scciowa.edu. Checks are to be made payable to the SCC Foundation.
