Holy Trinity boys win 2-1 at BHS

BURLINGTON - Junior Blake Crabtree racked up seven saves in Holy Trinity Catholic's 2-1 win over Burlington Saturday in Burlington.

Head Coach Ryan Culbertson said Crabtree probably had his best game from the keeper position.

Crabtree was tops in the Southeast Iowa Superconference last week with 28 saves and has 35 on the season.

The Crusaders got their goals from Adam Rauenbuehler and Audre Vincent. Rauenbuehler is among the conference best in goals scored with seven in four games. Vincent is right behind with six.

Culbertson said the midfield defense kept the Grayhounds off balance most of the match.

"We were tired and injured late in the game with only one available substitution and the worked their tails off the keep the score at halftime the same," Culbertson said.

"Our defense was holding Burlington to a limited number of shots and our midfield did a really nice job disrupting the Grayhounds and controlling the ball."

Holy Trinity stands at 3-2 on the season with their first contest at South Park set for Tuesday against IMS.
