Area Obituary - Tambra Jean Gallion, 60, Tennessee

On March 26, 2019, at 3:10 p.m. at her home in Bon Aqua, TN surrounded by her loving family, Tambra Jean Gallion, age 60, went home to be with the Lord. She was born on February 15, 1959 at the Whiteman Air Force Base in Johnson County, MO, the daughter of Jackie Junior Smith and Peggy Maurine (Hickle) Smith.

Since 1997, Tammy was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. Her father was in the Air Force and the family moved around the country, living in Missouri, Illinois, Germany, Washington D.C. and Delaware.

After her parent’s divorce, Tammy lived with her Mother in Illinois. She completed the 10th grade of high school, leaving because she didn’t like school and was “coming of age” in the 70’s. After the birth of her fifth child, she chose to further her education by getting her GED on April 2, 1998, and a Career Readiness Certificate from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology on May 21, 2009.

Tammy is survived by her children Cassie Jo Rennick of New Holland, Illinois; Jessica Kay (Joel) Sassman of East Peoria, Illinois; Patrica Lynn Haynes of Lincoln, Illinois; Richard Gallion, Jr.; and AJ Vaughn of Bon Aqua, Tennessee; sisters Sherry (Gary) Stice of Keokuk, Iowa; Laura Holmes of Bon Aqua, Tennessee; and Wendy Thrailkill; and brothers Jason (Laura) Cluney of Beardstown, Illinois; Scott (Brandie) Smith of Huntingburg, Indiana; Larry (Vickie) Cluney Jr. of Laclede, Missouri; and Billie (Corena) Cluney of Panama City, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces, including special nieces Debbie Hand and Angela Pinzone, who helped care for her the last 8 years and loved her like a second Mom. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be hosted by her family at a later date.
