HTC golfers drop two conference duals

FORT MADISON - The Holy Trinity Crusaders fell to New London Monday on a nine-hole meet at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course, 199-193.
The Tigers' Clayton Phillips was the medalist with 43 on the par-36 front nine. New London's Gabe Carter was the runner up with a 45.
Josh Barr led the Crusaders with a 48 followed by Mason Holvoet's 49.
Ali Robu, the only female golfer for HTC shot a 48 in the girls contest. New London's Summer Mallott shot a 46 as medalist in the girls' meet.
Kyle Bredemeyer and Trevor Mohrfeld both carded 51s for HTC. Brandon DeLaney shot a 53 and Colby Bredemeyer came in with a 55 to round out the scoring for Holy Trinity.
On Monday, Holvoet led the Crusaders with a 45 in a 192-172 loss to Notre Dame on Flint Hills front nine in Burlington.
Mohrfeld shot a 47, followed by Barr and Colby Bredemeyer's 50, Kyle Bredemeyer's 51 and Brant Holtkamp's 58. The top four golfers on each team contribute to the team score.
The boys host the Lee County Tournament with Central Lee and Fort Madison Friday beginning at 11 a.m. at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course.
