FMMS Hounds starts season 4-0

FAIRFIELD - The Fort Madison Middle school boys soccer team has started the season without a loss.

On Monday, the Hounds Red team eeked out a win over Fairfield Maharishi 5-4 with Xander Wellman pulling off the hat trick with three goals.

Carson Rashid, and Leif Boeding, each scored a goal, while Nathen Bowen and Boeding had and assist apiece Tate Settles and Hayden Segoviano shared time as the goal keeper. Ben Thele, Teague Smith and Camille Kruse played well at defense. Nathaniel Swigart, Henry Morris, and Xander Lumsden played well at midfield.

The Black team tied Maharish at one with Reid Bell scoring the lone goal and Trevor Luke playing in the goal. Salena Stotts, Ellanore Wright, and Gracie Blind played well at midfield. Daniel Sokolik, Tristan Schneider, Ivy Arnold, and Conner Gelsthorpe played well at defense.

Last Monday, the Red team rolled Central Lee 11-1 with Wellman and Bowen both scoring three goals a piece.

Rashid, Swigart, Boeding, Collin Campbell and Jamarkus Kline all scored a goal in the win. Kruse, Henry Morris, and Boeding each had an assist. Settles and Hayden Segoviano shared time as the goal keeper. Thele, Smith and Santiago shored up the defense.

FM Black team won 1-0 with Taylor High scoring the lone goal and Trevor Luke preserved the shutout in the goal. Reid Bell, Breann Walston, Isaac Mason, and Cameron Shuttwell played well and defense. Daniel Sokolik, Bryon Cruthfield, Ivy Arnold, and Conner Gelsthorpe played well at defense.
