Barr medalist at HTC dual; FMHS 3rd at Washington

FORT MADISON - Holy Trinity Catholic's Josh Barr was medalist with a 40 in the Crusaders 184-268 win over Wapello on Tuesday at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course.
Barr shot 4-over on the part 36 front nine, parring holes 1, 4-7, with no birdies or double bogies in the match.
Senior Kyle Bredemeyer earned runner-up medalist with a 45, edging fellow Crusader Mason Holvoet by one stroke.
In girls action, HTC's Ali Robu was medalist with a 46 playing bogey golf with the exception of a double bogey 6 on the dog-leg right 9th hole.
Wapello's Walker Bolander was fourth on the day going out with a 50. HTC's Trevor Mohrfeld, Brandon Delaney and Brant Holtkamp were 5th-7th with Mohrfeld and Delaney tying at 53 and Holtkamp with a 63.
The boys and girls teams host Van Buren on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Sheaffer's.
Hounds 3rd in triangular
Fort Madison's Tyler Wade shot a 47, after five-putting the final hole, as the Bloodhounds took 3rd place in a triangular event at Washington Golf and Country Club. Washington won the meet with a 162, Fairfield had a 192 and Fort Madison fell off late with a 198 team total comprised of the top four golfers.
Tommy Wade and Blake Algrim both shot a 50 for the Hounds. Logan Rashid carded a 51.
The Hounds play at Washington again on Saturday for the Washington Invitational.
