WEST POINT - The Holy Trinity Girls finished the regular season with a 9-1 win over Keokuk Tuesday night at a game that was moved to South Park in West Point due to field conditions. Fort Madison knocked off the Lady Chiefs on Monday 2-0.

Elle Rashid led the way with five goals a personal best for her and Claire Pothitakis who continues a barrage of hat tricks on the year again had three. Pothitakis is currently tied for 4th in the state in goals with 30. She's knotted up with Davenport Assumption state track champion Carly King and nine short of Unity Central's Jori Bronner who leads the state.

Ashlyn Haas had the goal of the match from 35 yards out with a screamer to the back of the net, that had everyone stopped for a moment.

Taylor Boeding had a few goal attempts snuffed out by the keeper but still had furnished three assists on the night. Nicole Pothitakis added one. HTC were up 5-0 at the half.

Keokuk got a goal in when Haas, playing back roaming the defense in the back field slipped on field conditions and dropped a ball short in the box that Keokuk capitalized on.

Maille Sheerin Nicole Pothitakis and Eryn Anderson had solid performances as did Mya Lawlor. Both Sheerin and Lawlor are close to being 100% match fit with their returns from injury.

HTC closed out the regular season at 11-5 on the year with three losses coming at the hands of out of state competition in the Adidas Tournament of Champions in April. They are off until district action begins Tuesday when they will take on either Central Lee or Mid-Prairie at South Park in West Point.

Fort Madison got goals from juniors Maddy McVey and sophomore Brandy Walker in their final game of the regular season. McVey also had an assist, as did junior Anna Kester.
