FORT MADISON – Beautiful, light reflecting prisms were sold in honor, memory, or support of a loved one as a fundraiser for the FMCH Hospice program representing, “every life is worth celebrating and every life shines their own unique light into the world”.
A Celebration of Light ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Fort Madison Community Hospital, hosted by the Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) Home Health & Hospice Care and the FMCH Foundation to honor and remember these loved ones. Both the morning program and the evening program were well attended by community members and FMCH staff.
These prisms will hang on the windows surrounding the Dick Canella Serenity Garden in the Main Lobby at FMCH during the month of May.
“We knew we wanted to create a fundraising event that not only helped to support the great work our hospice program is doing, but also celebrate the beauty of life. We had wonderful engagement from the community, and our employees. We look forward to extending our reach with this event just as our hospice program continues to grow, allowing our team to expand their impact for our community members,” commented Carrie Green, Executive Director, FMCH Foundation.
“It is truly an honor to be able to offer hospice care through our FMCH Home Health services. We are very fortunate to have strong backing from the FMCH Foundation, underscoring the strong teamwork that happens at FMCH every day. As we continue to build our program, we thank everyone for his or her support. We hope to be able to use our expertise to help more persons and their families as they travel through the journey of life and death,” expressed Deb Green, Director, FMCH Home Health & Hospice.
All monies raised through the Celebration of Light will go to support the FMCH Hospice program through the FMCH Foundation. A limited number of Prisms are still available for purchase by calling 319-376-2166. Prisms can be picked up by stopping by the Main Information desk.
