KEOKUK - Retired Iraq war Army veteran and Keokuk, Iowa native, Dustin Cackley, is bringing Armatus Reintegration Program to the Midwest to serve incarcerated veterans.

Armatus Reintegration Program, a nonprofit organization, was founded by Wadena, Iowa native and Marine Corps Scout Sniper veteran Rick Pritchard in Huntsville, Texas in 2017.

Together they have built the organization to where they, along with trained volunteers, make weekly visits to twelve correctional facilities to conduct two-hour classes with over 400 veterans to improve nine cognitive behaviors. Through Correctional Counseling Institute curricula their mission is to lower the recidivism of released veterans and help them to reintegrate successfully back into society.

Cackley will conduct a public presentation designed to provide information on Armatus Reintegration Program and its mission to serve incarcerated veterans at the First Christian Church, 3476 Main Street in Keokuk on June 22, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of the presentation is to introduce Armatus to the public and corrections communities, highlight the importance of this undertaking, recruit volunteers, and garner financial support in order to facilitate growing the organization throughout the states of Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and eventually Wisconsin.
