Burlington RAGBRAI committee finalizing plans for July bicyclists

BURLINGTON - The Burlington RAGBRAI Committee is looking for volunteers and groups to help welcome riders to Greater Burlington on Friday, July 26. The goal is to line the final stretch into town with cheering people. Giving riders a community-strong, warm welcome. People are encouraged to wear a RAGBRAI shirt, Spirit Wear, Pom-Poms, Foam Fingers and hold Welcome Signs to the incoming riders.

More than 20,000 people from all over the United States and the world will be coming to Burlington for the last overnight of the 47th Register’s Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI®) July 26.

The committee will be also hosting a Food Vendor meeting Monday, June 24 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the Greater Burlington Partnership Office located at 610 N. 4th Street, Suite 200, Burlington, Iowa. Non-restaurant businesses or groups planning on serving food during Burlington RAGBRAI are encouraged to attend.

The Lee County Health Inspector will be attending the meeting to go over food safety, proper food handling and answer questions vendors may have.
