Robert Lee Pitford, Sr, 81 of Keokuk, IA died Monday, June 24, 2019 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

He was born October 11, 1937 in Clark County, MO the son of Russell and Dorothy Dunn Pitford. On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage to Rose Mary Neumann in Harrison, AR. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Tammy Pitford of Keokuk, one son, Robert Pitford, Jr. of Keokuk, four grandchildren, Kristin Schlatter, Michael Hardman, Taylor Pitford and Makenna Gilpin, three sisters, Betty Martin, Rosie Reagen and Ruthie Hassman, one brother, Charlie Pitford, great-grandchildren, Konnor and Blake Schlatter, Devon, Elizabeth and Donavon Hardman and Silus and Milo Huston.

He was preceded in death his parents and two sisters, Rovella and Norma.

Robert had been employed as an over the road truck driver by Carry Transit and later by Foodliner, until his retirement five years ago.

He was a member of the 7thDay Adventist Church.

Robert enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and deer hunting. He loved tinkering on old cars and had restored several through the years. Robert especially enjoyed spending time with his family at family gatherings.

There will be no services.

Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
