Mrs. Ruth Covington, 96, of Ethel, WA, formerly of Dallas City, IL passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the home of her son, Robert, in Ethel where she resided for the past five years.
She was born March 19, 1923 in Dallas City, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Wood Cherrill Miller. On August 15, 1941 she married Ivan “Bud” Covington in Dallas City. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2014.
Ruth retired from Ochsner Chevrolet in Fort Madison where she worked as the credit manager.
Surviving are her son, Robert Covington, daughter-in-law Claire of Ethel, WA, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Martha Jane and Pamela Ann Covington, two brothers and five sisters.
Visitation with the family will be held at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City on August 3, 2019 from 3:00 - 5:00PM. A private burial will be in Harris Cemetery near Dallas City.
