IOWA CITY- Fort Madison's baseball team got to experience something not many will ever get the chance to. Wednesday the Bloodhounds traveled to Iowa City to play on the Iowa Hawkeye's home field at Duane Banks Field, at the University of Iowa.

Making things even more special was the fact Fort Madison came away with a 10-0 shutout victory of Denison-Schleswig to bump the Hounds one game over the .500 mark on the season, now at 15-14.

Reed Fehseke reached base safely to start the bottom of the first, before getting moved over to second on a Jordyn Gerdes single. Fehseke was picked off at second, but back-to-back walks from Brandon Reichelt and Vasin Thurman loaded the bases. Dayne Cordray drew the third-straight walk, plating the first run for Fort Madison, giving the Bloodhounds a 1-0 lead.

After forcing Denison into a three-up, three-down top of the second, the Hounds exploded for a four-run bottom of the second.

Landes Williams and Kane Williams hit back-to-back singles, before Fehseke loaded the bases next on a walk. Jason Thurman also walked, bringing in Landes Williams for the 2-0 lead. Reichelt hit into a fielder's choice the following at bat, but plated Kane Williams for the 3-0 lead. The Hounds weren't done.

Vasin Thurman singled to plate Fehseke and make it a 4-0 game, before Cordray came up with a single of his own to score Reichelt for the fourth run of the inning and the 5-0 lead.

After holding Denison scoreless for the third-straight inning, Tate Johnson walked to start the bottom of the third. Landes Williams produced another single and Kane Williams followed with a single to score Johnson for the 6-0 advantage.

Fehseke singled the ensuing at bat for three-straight singles before out two was recorded on a pop out. Denison's pitcher attempted to pick off Fehseke at first, but the ball got past the first baseman, allowing Kane Williams to score and moving Fehseke to second. Reichelt then walked to load the bases, before Vasin Thurman singled to bring in Fehseke for the 8-0 lead.

A lead-off double from Jason Thurman sparked the offense again in the bottom of the fifth. Reichelt walked after the first out was recorded and Vasin Thurman followed with a single, scoring courtesy runner Reiburn Turnbull to make it 9-0.

Needing just one more run for the ten-run rule, Landes Williams walked to begin the bottom of the sixth. Fehseke singled and Jason Thurman was hit by a pitch to load the bases again. Gerdes delivered with an RBI single the ensuing at bat, giving the Hounds the walk off 10-0 win.

Vasin Thurman led the way at the plate with three RBIs on a 3-for-3 day. Kane Williams pitched all six innings on 56 pitches, allowing just three hits and no earned runs.
