Julie Ann Wessel, 65, of Keokuk went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. 

     She was born March 24, 1954 the daughter of Albert and Joyce Harmon Jackson in Rapid City, South Dakota.  On March 17, 1973 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mark Wessel.

Julie graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1972. She was employed with Willow Tree Flowers and Gifts as a floral designer for many years before retiring in 2016.

     Julie was member of Cornerstone Church in Keokuk.  

     She was a loving and dedicated wife, mom and ninnie.  Her love for God was the only thing greater than her love for her family.  Her favorite times were the holidays and any other time she could prepare gifts to give to others.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and spent her life making a wonderful home for her husband and children.  Decorating her home and entertaining was a passion for her.

     Julie is survived by her husband, Mark Wessel of Keokuk, her son, Brian (Kimberly) Wessel of Keokuk, two daughters, Jessica (Kevin Hall) Wessel of Keokuk and Maggie (Lance) Guzman of Republic, MO, five grandchildren, Briley Wessel, Gracie Wessel, Alyssa Wessel, Landon Mason, and Jackson Guzman, her mother, Joyce Jackson, two sisters, Terri Cameron and Karla Jackson, two brothers, David Jackson and Jeff Jackson, along with many nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Jackson and a niece, Tara Marie Cameron.

     Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cornerstone Church in Keokuk.

     Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with the family meeting with friends at that time.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Julie’s name to Cornerstone Church Youth Program or Lee County Hospice.
