The collision occurred at about 3:15 p.m. at the DuPont outlet on Avenue L and involved two vehicles at the scene and a third vehicle as a suspect in a silver Pontiac left the scene striking that vehicle.

A motorist followed the vehicle around the vicinity of the accident and eventually lost track of the car, but the vehicle was discovered parked facing east between a home in the 3300 block of Avenue G.

Officers with the Fort Madison Police Department, Lee County Sheriff's Department and the Iowa State Patrol remained at the scene of the home on Avenue G while other officers tended to the accident on Avenue L.

No emergency responders were needed at the accident scene as no injuries were reported.
