Duane “Toby” Eugene Stigall, 84, of Keokuk, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.
He was born on January 4, 1935 in Fort Madison, IA, the son of Talton and Hattie Lee Stanton Stigall. He graduated from Fort Madison High School with the Class of 1952. During his high school years Toby played football, basketball and ran track. He attended the University of Iowa where he participated in gymnastics and diving.

STIGALL

Toby enlisted in the United States Army on February 3, 1955 and proudly served his country, receiving his Honorable Discharge on January 31, 1963 with the rank of Sergeant.
On May 9, 1992, Toby was united in marriage to Ann E. Hagmeier in Itasca, IL. She survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Terri (Lynn) Mason and Shari Meyers all of Keokuk, three step-daughters, Theresa (Tom) Kline and Suzanne Modrovsky (Scott Jenkins) all of Mountaintop, PA, and Lisa Robertson (Kurt Schultz) of Tulsa, OK, fourteen grandchildren, Mike, Sara and Lindsy Mason all of Keokuk, Amy (Brandon) Underwood of Des Moines, IA, Lauren (Scott) Roman, Jason and Annmarie Kline, Catherine (Bill) Noble, Luke, Noah, and Grace Modrovsky all of Mountain Top, PA, Phoebe (Reid) Stinson of Midland, TX, Jillian Robertson of Tulsa, OK, and Erin Robertson (Rodigo Ayala) of Chicago, IL, eight great-grandchildren, Dylan Roman, Camden and Brecken Underwood, Olivia and Mason Swindler, Katielynn Helenthal, Thomas Noble and Landon Mason . He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Doris Stigall of Fort Madison, IA, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vince Stigall and Glenn Stigall (Rozma), one sister, Eva Britton (Dick) and one grandchild, Regan Robertson.
He had been employed at Hubinger/Roquette in Keokuk for thirty-one years retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Keokuk Elks Lodge #106 and in 2003, received the Elks National Veterans Certificate of Appreciation. He was also a member the Keokuk American Legion Post 41.
Toby was an avid golfer and played in many tournaments. He won first place in the 2003 Keokuk Savings Bank Men’s City Tournament, Super Senior Division.
An Elks Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Elks Lodge, 2200 Lincoln Avenue in Keokuk. Burial with military rites will be held in the Keokuk National Cemetery
Following the burial, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Elks Lodge.
