Reichelt named to 1st team All-SEC baseball squad

Bloodhounds Cordray, Vasin Thurman, and Chiefs Dalton Boecker selected for 2nd team

The 2019 Southeast Conference all-conference teams have been released and Fort Madison and Keokuk were well represented across the board.

Junior Brandon Reichelt was named first team all-conference as a designated hitter. With a minimum of at least five at bats, Reichelt led the Bloodhounds in batting average at .339, on base percentage at .494 and a slugging percentage at .500. He also led the team with 24 RBIs, tied for the team lead with one home run and was second on the team in doubles.

Senior Dayne Cordray was named second team all-conference for his phenomenal season on the mound. Cordray tossed a team-high 58.1 innings and finished the season with an overall record of 5-3. Cordray led the Bloodhounds’ starting pitchers in nearly every statistical category, finishing 2019 with 36 strikeouts, an ERA of 2.40 and a WHIP of 1.509.

Vasin Thurman was named second team all-conference as well for his play at first base. Thurman batted .250, was second on the team with 19 RBIs, second on the team in walks with 24 and led the team in triples with two. Thurman also was tied for third on the Fort Madison roster with 21 hits on the season. He finished the season with an OBP of .432 and a slugging percentage of .321.

Keokuk’s Senior Dalton Boecker was named second team all-conference as a catcher, leading Keokuk in nearly every statistical category. Boecker finished the season with a batting average of .392, an OBP of .495 and a slugging percentage of .608. Boecker collected 31 hits, two of which were home runs. He also knocked in 12 RBI, 13 runs and 15 bases on balls.

Senior Jordan Gerdes was named all-conference honorable mention, finishing the season with an average of .273, an OBP of .445 and a slugging percentage of .352. Gerdes also grabbed 17 RBI and led the Bloodhounds in hit by pitches with 12. Jason Thurman was also named honorable mention with a season average of .255, an OBP of .418 and a slugging percentage of .309. Thurman also tied for third on the team with 18 RBI.

Freshman Jordan Sisk and Senior Gavin Walker were also named honorable mention for Keokuk.

Fort Madison’s Dayne Cordray, Austin Heidbreder, Jordyn Gerdes, Logan Rashid, Brandon Reichelt, Jace Burgher and Reed Fehseke were all named to the academic all-conference squad along with Keokuk’s Gavin Walker.
