Jack R. Whisenand, 69, of Fort Madison passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

He was born on January 27, 1950 in Bucklin, MO to Elmo and Bertha Davolt Whisenand.On October 16, 1971 he married Paula Hecke and they later divorced.He then married Jeanine Pihl on June 22, 2004 and she passed away on May 25, 2019.Jack worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired in 2010 after forty two years of service.He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge.Jack served in the US Army 101stAirborne during the Vietnam war.

Survivors include two sons, Brian Whisenand and Brad Whisenand both of Ft. Madison; a granddaughter, Jennifer Whisenand of Ft. Madison; two step daughters, Mardie (Ivan) May of Las Vegas and Kristie Bornsheuer of Burlington; six step grandchildren, Shenelle, Derrick, Sydney, Jaydis, Danika and Brian; one sister, Edith Jewett of Mt. Union, MO.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother.

    Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Burial will take place in Soldier’s Circle, Oakland Cemetery.
