James A. Leggett died unexpectedly on August 6th 2019 at the age of 62 in Knoxville, TN.
He was born in Keokuk, IA on April 26, 1957 the son of Claude and Rose Marie Mork Leggett.
James was a devoted Harley rider and a free spirit. He dedicated his life to working as a roughneck on the oil fields, which sent him all over the United States.

He was also an avid fisherman, a mason and a veteran of the United States Navy.
James is survived by his mother, Rose (Scott) Depew, sisters Linda Parrish and Claudia Waun, brother, Carl Leggett, his children, Shane (Maria), Beth (Malcolm), Joshua (LeeAnn), Angela & Andrea, his stepdaughter Nici (Jimmy), twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his father, Claude Leggett, his sister Marla Fields and special friend Deborah.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Wednesday with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
