Hound 8th graders down Fairfield

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison eighth graders downed Fairfield 8-0 Tuesday afternoon on the road.

Teague Smith scored from five yards out on the ground for the game's only touchdown. Smith then found Joe Hartman in the endzone for the two-point conversion.

Smith and Isaac Thacher both had seven tackles in the shutout. Henry Wiseman and Aiden Benda each had five. Hartman and Cade Denning each had interceptions to help preserve the win.

Smith led the Hounds on the ground with 15 carries for 85 yards. Wiseman had eight carries for 28 yards.

The Hounds take on West Burlington next Tuesday at home at 6 p.m.
