FORT MADISON - According to Fort Madison City Clerk Melinda Blind, four people will run for the mayor's seat for Fort Madison in the November 5 election.

Current City Councilman Matt Mohrfeld announced his candidacy last month, but since then Rodney Hoskins, Jason Eaves and Joseph Helmick all turned in papers before Thursday's filing deadline. Current Mayor Brad Randolph said he was not going to see re-election last month.

At-large councilman Kevin Rink turned in papers to retain his council seat and will be challenged by Jerry Hamelton.

In the first ward, Rebecca Bowker and former mayoral candidate Chris Sorrentino will battle it out.

For the 3rd ward seat only Tyler Miller turned in papers, and Chad Cangas will run unopposed to hold onto his 5th Ward seat. Mohrfeld currently holds the 3rd Ward seat.

Pen City Current will run features outlining each contested election in the weeks prior to the election.
