Central Lee falls to 0-4 with loss to WB-ND

DONNELLSON - West Burlington-Notre Dame spoiled Central Lee's Homecoming Friday night with a 27-6 win in non-district Class 2A football action.

West Burlington scored a touchdown in each quarter, three on runs and then on a 45-yard pass play from Anthony Hoffman to Kendall Baker.

Central Lee scored in the third period down 14-0 when David Vance picked up a fumble and raced 23 yards to the endzone to close the gap to one score.

But the Falcon's would score again just three minutes later on the pass to Baker and then added an insurance score in the 4th on another one-yard plunge to put the game away with just under seven minutes left.

The Hawks were led on the ground by Dalton Westercamp who had 55 yards on 10 carries. Adam Boeck, who started at quarterback for the game had 22 yards on nine carries and went 5 of 16 for 33 yards in the air.

Mason Schau, Dylan Stuecker and TJ Stutes all had 11 yards through the air.

Evan Pohren and Connor Moore each had six tackles to lead Central Lee's defensive efforts.

The Falcons scored on a one-yard run with 1:42 left in the 1st quarter to take the early lead. Then at the 11:18 mark scored from 3 yards out, again on the ground and added the extra point to make it 14-0

Central Lee falls to 0-4 on the year and plays at Mid-Prairie on Friday. West Burlington (1-3) secured it's first win of the year and hosts Louisa-Muscatine on Friday at Bill Nelson Field.
