Jeffery Thompson Boyd, 49 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison. He was born October 1, 1970 in Quincy, Illinois a son of Janice (Thompson) Boyd. On September 27, 2003, he married Patricia Jones in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jeff was a 1988 graduate of Quincy High School. He served in the United States Army. In 1995, he moved to Fort Madison. He worked at HyVee for 27 years, mostly in the meat department. Jeff always had a smile on his face and worked hard to make you laugh. He touched may lives, and was selfless and always had a kind word to say.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Boyd of Fort Madison; one daughter, Alex Boyd of St. Louis, Missouri; one step-daughter, Stacy (Andrew) King of North Liberty, Iowa; two sisters, Joan Anderson of Quincy and Judy Boyd of Fort Madison; and one brother, Jason (Karen) Boyd of Quincy. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-son, Jeremy Ranck.
His family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
