Central Lee's struggles continue with 49-7 home loss

DONNELLSON - The Central Lee Hawks were shut out by Williamsburg until the final two minutes when Dalton Westercamp got free on a 13-year touchdown run to cap a 47-9 loss at home Friday night.

Williamsburg scored three times in the first quarter on two long runs of 35 and 49 yards and then a 16-yard touchdown pass to take a quick 21-0 lead.

Senior Kaden Wetjen accounted for five of the Raiders seven scores. Wetjen finished the day with 125 yards on the ground and two scores, but also had two 60-year punt returns for touchdowns on special teams. He had 135 return yards on three punt returns.

Wetjen then picked off an Adam Boeck pass at the Warrior's 15 and ran it back 85 yards for another touchdown.

Westercamp had a nice night for Central Lee averaging close to six yards per carry for 141 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

Evan Pohren had 4.5 tackles, four were solo and two of those were for losses.

The Hawks are home again this week taking on Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont before finishing off the season on the road at Davis County.
