FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Education Association will be hosting a community forum on Tuesday, Oct. 29 beginning at 6 p.m.

The forum will feature all six of the candidates for the Nov. 5 Fort Madison Community School District Board of Directors.

The forum will open at 5:45 for attendees to write down questions to be asked during the forum which is scheduled to run until 7:30 p.m. at the Connection Bank Community Room in downtown Fort Madison.

There are four seats open on the school board with six candidates vying for the open seats including incumbents Dianne Hope, Jared Hotop, Lois DiPrima, and Carol Ross.

Newcomer Candice Smrt is also on the ballot for one of the seats as is former school board director Josh Wykert.

Wykert was appointed as a school board director in January after the death of director Gayla Young. He served until the spring election that year and was defeated by Brad Menke for the seat.

State law this year moved all school elections to the November general election cycle.
