HTC 7th graders lose in 2nd tiebreaker at state meet

ANKENY - The Holy Trinity 7th grade cross country team just missed winning the team state meet at the Dick Washburn Middle School Statewide meet last weekend.

Tate Green finished 7th overall and 2nd in the team standings with a time of 13:04.7 and Adam Sobczak finished 11th overall and 3rd in the team standings to lead the Crusaders.

Holy Trinity tied with Madrid with 29 points overall and had a faster average and total time, but after a first level tiebreaker, which compared the different between the top four runner, also ended in a tie, the next tiebreaker was to compare the top three runners points, which HTC lost 13 to 16.

The other top scoring runners for HTC was Cade Goodrich who finished 35th overall and 11th in team scoring with a time of 14:47.4. Luke Hellige rounded out the scoring with a 38th place overall and 13th team finish with a time of 14:58.5.
