Donald L. Niggemeyer, 83, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 7:20 PM at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

He was born on May 8, 1936 in Ft. Madison to Henry and Elsie Krumpleman Niggemeyer. On January 31, 1959 he married Elaine Fowler in Ft. Madison. He worked at Consolidated Packaging as a Supervisor and retired after forty one years of service. Don was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working on antique clocks and refinishing furniture. He was known as the “neighborhood handyman” and helped anyone out with whatever was needed.

NIGGEMEYER

   Survivors include his wife, Elaine Niggemeyer of Ft. Madison; a son, Mark Niggemeyer of Dallas, TX; a daughter Dana (Chuck)Chrisman of Burlington; one grandson, Camden Chrisman of Olathe, KS; a sister, Barb (Fred) Otte of Ft. Madison; a brother, James (Mary Jane) Niggemeyer of Ft. Madison; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Charlene; three brothers, Melvin, Wilbert and Robert; two half brothers, Ralph and Clarence and a half sister, Julia.

   Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A graveside service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10 AM with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating.
