     Daniel “Dan” Tweedy, 65 of Montrose, IA died Monday, November 11, 2019 surrounded by his family.

     He was born August 9, 1954 in Keokuk, IA the son of David and Elsie Senf Tweedy. 

Dan graduated from Central Lee High School with the Class of 1972.

On August 4, 1973 he was united in marriage to Vickie Clark in Keokuk. She survives.

     Other survivors include his mother, Elsie Tweedy of Montrose, IA, two sons, Jeremy Tweedy (Jamie) of Argyle, IA and Matt Tweedy (Sarah) of Donnellson, IA, one daughter, Stephanie Smith (Kris) of Montrose, IA, eleven grandchildren, Devin and Hailey Tweedy, Sarah Mattlynn, Avreeanna, Quenten and Trenten Tweedy, Lily, Ivy, Emmett, Primrose and Hazel Smith, three brothers, Rodney Tweedy (Jennie) of Montrose, IA, Steve Tweedy (Kathy) of Revere, MO and Walter Tweedy (Peggy) of Montrose, IA and two sisters, Mary Bell (Gene) of Laclede, ID and Sherry Wells (Dave) of  Lathrop, MO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  

     He was preceded in death by his father.  

     Dan had been employed by Hickey Construction in Keokuk as a foreman and recently retired.

     He was a member of the Model T Club.

     Dan enjoyed riding motorcycles, tinkering with cars and collecting guns.  Most of all, “Papa Dan” cherished spending time with his grandchildren and loved spoiling them. 

     There will be no services.

     The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
