Betty Joan (Bostock) Radel,age 93, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at the LaHarpe Davier Care Center in LaHarpe, Illinois.Betty was born June 22, 1926, the daughter of William and Helen Bostock in rural Keosauqua, Iowa.

She attended elementary school at the Vernon School in Vernon, Iowa. She graduated high School at Ft Madison High School, Ft. Madison, Iowa in 1944.Betty was united in marriage with Max Radel on August 30, 1947, at the Sacred Heart Church in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1996.

She worked at Sheaffer Pen Company, and as a farm wife and bookkeeper.

Betty is survived by her three sons: Bill (Gayle) of Nauvoo, Illinois, James (Carol) of Kansas City, Missouri and Richard of Nauvoo, Illinois; four grandchildren: Stephanie (Matt) Wilson of Kansas City, Missouri, Blake Radel of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Matt Radel of Kansas City, Missouri and Joe (Chelsea) Radel of Nauvoo, Illinois;two great-grandchildren: Asher Radel and Sutton Radel of Nauvoo, Illinois.She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Helen Bostock; her husband: Max Radel; one sister: Mary Ida Pilkington and one brother: Charles Bostock.

The family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, at Schmitz Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo. A Rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Prayer Service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Schmitz Funeral Home in Nauvoo, lead by Father Tony Trosley. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Nauvoo.

Memorials can be made in her memory to the Nauvoo Fire Department or Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
