Lee County swimmers lead BHS to win

BURLINGTON - The Burlington Grayhound swim team won a triangular meet over United Township and Wethersfield, 104-67-17 Tuesday at the Burlington High School pool.

Three swimmers from Lee County led the boys 200 yard medley with a time of 1:52.31, a full 13.31 ahead of the pack. Logan Crank, Jacob Mohrfeld carried the first two legs and Wyatt Hellman anchored the relay with the fastest leg at 24.56.

Another Lee County swimmer in the shared program Niel Macomber was the second leg on the 3rd place team with a time of 2:06.29.

Mohrfeld won the 200 yard individual medley going away with a 2:11.51, 26.41 a head of anyone else in the race.

Hellman took 1st in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.94, and 2nd in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.48, 4.73 off the pace.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay Crank, Mohrfeld and Hellman were the first three legs of the first-place Grayhound team at 1:38.73. Taden Jameson carried the anchor for Burlington.

Other top local finishers were Crank with a first place in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:07.32, and Mohrfeld touching the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:03.12.

Crank also carried the final leg of the Grayhound 2nd place team in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 4:12.99.
