James Wayne Meierotto, 61 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home. He was born December 25, 1957 in Fort Madison, a son of Alvin and Mary Margaret “Margie” (Coster) Meierotto. He married Susan Holterhaus, they had four children: Bryer, Rachel, Jordyn, and Sam.

He was a 1976 graduate of Fort Madison High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a manager for ISC, Burlington for many years.  He was a Christian.  He loved basketball, grilling with his brother Dennis, shooting, fishing, and Classic Rock. 

He is survived by two sons, Bryer Meierotto of Burlington, Iowa and Sam Meierotto of Fort Madison;  

two daughters, Rachel Meierotto of Utah and Jordyn Meierotto of Fort Madison; his mother, Margie Meierotto of Fort Madison; three brothers: Daniel Meierotto of Wever, Iowa; Brian (Barbara) Meierotto of Montrose, Iowa; and Patrick Meierotto of Burlington; two sisters, Deborah Mapes of Montrose and Carol (Gary) Glasgow of West Point, Iowa; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Dennis, and a nephew Spencer.

His body has been cremated.   A graveside service with military rites will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Meierotto family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
